Blog: Empowerment Academies In Session This Week!
April 21, 2015

This Spring Break offers a different experience for 400 of Springfield’s students. Seventh graders in need of additional support have the time for intensive and focused math instruction with the launch of the Empowerment Academies. Over 40 teachers, selected from across the region in a competitive application process, will spend the week helping students gain the skills they need for success in school and life. These powerful learning opportunities are just one way the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership is already working to find ways to directly work with students. Watch WGGB, Springfield’s ABC affiliate, reporting here and here.

Update: Empowerment Academy students and teachers share thoughts about their experiences! Click to view a photo album from Forest Park’s Empowerment Academy and read stories about how Spring Break week is going.
