Jaynie is a senior manager at Empower Schools, leading communication strategy. She supports our team members on the ground as they execute and share their work while passing the mic to those most proximate to the issues. Throughout her career, Jaynie has leveraged storytelling to work towards educational equity in partnership with communities around the world.
Hailing from a small beach town in Florida, Jaynie moved to Texas to become a bilingual elementary teacher at Dallas Independent School District. While holding a variety of on-campus roles, Jaynie innovated community initiatives aimed at empowering families to use their voices to ask for and access the most effective resources for their needs. To affect systemic change, Jaynie used her experience in programming, operations, and communications to elevate stories of change and improve communication systems at scale at top education brands, including Teach For America, National Geographic, Learning A-Z, and more.
Jaynie holds a bachelor’s in interpersonal and organizational communication from the University of Central Florida, a master’s in bilingual education from Southern Methodist University, and a master’s in education leadership from the University of North Texas. Jaynie is currently a Forté Fellow pursuing her MBA at Duke University.
